Matching colors:

In order to match your wedding colors, I need a sample.  This can be a swatch of fabric, piece of ribbon, napkin, or even an invitation.

Matching icing colors can be difficult at times.  Virtually any color can be duplicated in icing but there are a couple things you need to consider before putting that color on your cake.  Dark colors can add a beautiful contrast to your cake but they can also cause disaster.  Dark colors can stain your guests’ teeth.  They can also bleed into lighter colored icing underneath it.  If you insist on having a dark color on your cake , it might be wise to use it as an accent color and not the main color.

All about flowers:

The flowers that are friends with the bride’s budget are silk.  Many brides choose this option not only for this reason but for a variety of reasons.  They always look perfect, are the right color, and can be purchase and arranged ahead of time.

Sugar paste, or gum paste flowers can be as stunning as real flowers.  They always look perfect since there are no bruised petals.  They are long lasting and can be used in household decorating after the wedding.  However, since these are hand made and are time consuming, they can be costly.

Fresh flowers are absolutely beautiful on any cake.  But as we all know, beauty comes with a price.  If you decide to go with fresh flowers, it would be wise to work closely between your florist and decorator.  Ideally, you should arrange for a meeting with both your florist and cake specialist.
